Uzmanību is a Latvian Folk Music band in Japan. The new EP was released on December, 2017. Take a listen to a unique take on centuries old traditional Latvian melodies arranged by a colorful team of musicians:
Akiko Mizoguchi (kokle), Shinichi Hada (violin), Aki (percussion), Una Ulla (vocals and kokle).
This CD was born in Japan and released on December 2017.
Uzmanību is a band that came together in 2014. Akiko Mizoguchi, who plays kokle on this album, is an erudite about Latvia and playing kokle is her passion. Shinichi Hada is an Arabic violin player based in Kansai, Japan. Aki is a Celtic percussionist. Together with Una Ulla (vocals and kokle) arrangements of these five songs were born. Each song represents a season and the last composition is a dance song. You can find lyrics inside in three languages, Latvian, English and Japanese. Uzmanību is the only Latvian Folk Music band in Japan. Since Una Ulla moved to America Uzmanību is continuing as a trio.
